Time to take a break – a short one – from our shameless self-promotion of what we consider to be the best construction management software on the web. We can across this new app, and we think it is cool enough to mention here.
PlanGrid is an iPad app that allows you to store, view, annotate and share blueprints on the iPad – and it works pretty much exactly as advertised. You upload from a web client to their cloud service, and then have access from your iPad, anywhere you have Internet access. Assuming you have an iPad model with cellular service (and why wouldn’t you?), that means anywhere.
Annotations are the most powerful feature. Use different markup styles and colors, and share with everyone involved. You can even insert a picture you take right on site, and make notes on that – right at the part of the plan that matters.
Pricing is based on the number of plan sets you store, and it’s really reasonable – especially if you consider the cost of printing, duplicating and delivering paper plans. Paper? What? That’s so, like, 3 years ago.
